Assessments

Clinical Evaluations/psychological testing

Psychological assessments can be done to gain a better understanding of personality traits, social-emotional and cognitive functioning, and mood or other psychological disorders.  Depending on the referral question, this type of evaluation may take 2 to 4 hours for the client, as it includes both an interview and psychological testing. A separate feedback appointment is also made to go over the results and recommendations, and you will be provided a written report with the results.

Examples of reasons for doing an in-depth psychological evaluation like this include:

Please note, I do not offer assessments that are needed for legal/court cases. It is recommended individuals be evaluated by a forensic psychologist if seeking assessments for those purposes.

Cost & Insurance Coverage

IN-NETWORK: Aetna, Moda, Tricare (West Region), Alaska Medicaid

I am in-network with these insurance companies and will bill your insurance company directly. Your cost (deductible, copay, co-insurance) is determined by your insurance policy and will be billed to you once your insurance company notifies me of your cost responsibility following each appointment.

Other Insurance Plans: Out of Network Benefits

If I am not in-network with your insurance plan, some plans reimburse a portion of out-of-network assessment costs (e.g. 40-80% of allowed charges after annual OON deductible is met). I work with Thrizer to help clients maximize their insurance reimbursement for out of network coverage. Thrizer will check your benefits and if you have OON benefits, they will handle your claim for you. More information is available on their website ( https://www.thrizer.com/).

Cash Rate: The cost of an assessment varies depending on the complexity of a person's presentation and recommended assessment measures. Our starting package includes one measure of personality and psychopathology, one cognitive/performance measure, and relevant symptom checklists, as well as a clinical interview and feedback session. This is appropriate for most of the assessments I conduct and the cost is $1500.  If additional measures are needed, that will be discussed prior to commencing additional testing and a cost estimate provided at that time.
